The Death of Jesus

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 27, 45 – 56:

From noon onward, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. And about three o’clock Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means; “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” Some of the bystanders who heard it said, “This one is calling for Elijah.” Immediately one of them ran to get a sponge; he soaked it in wine, and putting it on a reed, gave it to him to drink. But the rest said, “Wait, let us see if Elijah comes to save him.” But Jesus cried out again in a loud voice, and gave up his spirit. And behold, the veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked, rocks were split, tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. And coming forth from their tombs after his resurrection, they entered the holy city and appeared to many. The centurion and the men with him who were keeping a watch over Jesus feared greatly when they saw the earthquake and all that was happening, and they said, “Truly, this was the Son of God!” There were many women there, looking on from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him. Among them were Mary Magdelene and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

We are having more rain these days. Today it rained in the morning but the sun came out in the afternoon and it was nice and warm with the sunshine. I have been busy these days and I had a good number of visitors who came to see the chapel of Our Blessed Mother and to ask for prayers. I wish to remind you again that I still have my Book of Remembrance. You can add names in that book and I celebrate Holy Mass three days a week for a full year for those written in the book. It only cost $15 to write a name in that book. So if you have any sick persons in your family, or if some are a problem, then write to me to enter their names in the Book of Remembrance. Send a cheque for the cost which will be equivalent to the number you want to enter in the book.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin.Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I love you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have a great faith in Me. The reading today is about My death on the cross. I was on the cross from noon until three o’clock in the afternoon. After shouting aloud twice, I gave up My spirit and died. While I was on the cross, I suffered greatly from the wounds in My feet and hands and from the crown of thorns on My head. I had also been beaten severely and I was bleeding all over My body. After My death, Joseph of Arimathea went to Ponius Pilate to get permission to remove My body from the cross. Pontius Pilate gave him permission and he went and took My body from the cross. When I died the earth quaked, rocks were split, tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. When the centurion saw this and made an act of faith in Me saying, “Truly, this was the Son of God.” Soon after that they buried Me in a tomb nearby.
You know that My Mother Mary was also at the cross with many women and Saint John the Apostle was there too with My Mother. Know My friends that I died on the cross for your salvation. This was the price I had to pay to atone for all your sins. My Heavenly Father had asked Me to die for the salvation of you all. Come now all you who believe in Me and accept Me as your Savior and Redeemer. I am now risen from the dead and I am still working to help all of you to reach heaven one day. I bless you all.”
