The Crucifixion

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 27, 33 – 44:

When they came to the place called Golgotha (which means Place of the Skull), they gave Jesus wine to drink mixed with gall. But when he had tasted it, he refused to drink. After they had crucified him, they divided his garments by casting lots; then they sat down and kept watch over him there. And they placed over his head the written charge against him: This is Jesus, the King of the Jews. Two revolutionaries were crucified with him, one on his right and the other on his left. Those passing by reviled him, shaking their heads and saying, “You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself, if you are the Son of God, and come down from the cross!” Likewise the chief priests with the scribes and elders mocked him and said, “He saved others; he cannot save himself. So he is the king of Israel! Let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now if he wants him. For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.'” The revolutionaries who were crucified with him also kept abusing him in the same way.

I thank the Lord for the very nice week we had. It was sunny almost every day and the temperature was up to 26 degrees Celsius almost every afternoon. My heath has been good only that I have a sore foot every now and then. The big cross of 27 feet I have in front of Our Lady’s Chapel used to be bright at night but now it does not light anymore. I would like to change the lights inside and replace them with new ones. I would need someone to come here with a truck with a high lift so these lights could be replaced. It would cost about $700 to buy the lights and to do that job. I would be very happy if you could help me to do this job. Thank you very much.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“It is with great joy that I express My love for you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have great love for Me and who follow Me every day. The reading today is about My crucifixion on the cross. I had to carry My cross outside of Jerusalem to a place called Golgotha and there the soldiers crucified Me. They drove nails into My hands and feet and then lifted the cross up. They place Me between two revolutionaries who were also crucified. I had one on My right and the other on My left. You know that My Mother and My Apostle John were near the cross. There were also some women there including Mary Magdalene who was at the foot of the cross. The people around insulted Me and even the chief priests and scribes mocked Me. I was on the cross for about three hours in great pain. I suffered all this to atone for all your sins so that one day you can be with Me in heaven. I call you all to give your “yes” to Me and to offer yourselves completely to Me so that I can live in your heart and that we can have a close relationship together. I love you all.”
