The Return of the Twelve and the Feeding of the Five Thousand
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 14, 13 -21:
When Jesus heard of the death of John the Baptist, he withdrew in a boat to a deserted place by himself. The crowds heard of this and followed him on foot from their towns. When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, and he cured their sick. When it was evening, the disciples approached him and said, “This is a deserted place and it is already late; dismiss the crowd so that they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.” Jesus said to them, “There is no need for them to go away; give them some food yourselves.” But they said to him, “Five loaves and two fish are all we have here.” Then he said, “Bring them here to me,” and he ordered the crowd to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds. They all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up the fragments left over–twelve wicker baskets full. Those who ate were about five thousand men, not counting women and children.
We had another beautiful sunny day although it was cool enough in the morning. It was about 8 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. I wish to thank all those who sent names to place in the Book of Remembrance. I will offer three Holy Masses a week for a full year for all of them. I am waiting for more people to send names for the book. You can send the names of your relatives and friends, the living and the dead and they surely will be helped. You know it cost only $15 a person to enter the name for a full year.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who love to read the Bible especially the Gospels and learn all about Me. Today’s reading shows what I did to the people who were with Me in the desert. There were many people well over five thousand. They had been with Me all day and the Apostles told Me to let them go to the villages to get something to eat for they were hungry. I told the Apostles to give them some food. All the food they had was five loaves of bread and two fish. I told them to bring the loaves and fish here and I took them and blessed them and then I gave them to the Apostles to distribute it to the people. All the people ate and were full and still they gathered twelve baskets of fragments that were left over. This is the miracle of the loaves and fish. It reminded the Jewish people of the manna that My Father gave the Jewish people in the desert for forty years as they traveled from Egypt to Israel. I brought about these miracles in order that the people may recognize that I am the Messiah, the Son of God, who came into the world to save them. I continue to do miracles today in many countries of the world. Come believe in Me and follow Me and you will be blessed.”
