The Birth of Jesus

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 2, 1 – 14:

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled. This was the first enrollment, when Quirinius was governor of Syria. So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town. And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. While they were there, the time came from her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them at the inn.
Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you; you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on which his favor rests.”

We have arrived at the great Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. What a joy that the Lord should be born like us in Bethlehem. He came to save us all. I wish you all a very Holy and Blessed Christmas filled with joy and peace. May the Lord fill you all with His grace and give you all the strength you need to follow Him every day.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I bless you all on My Great Feast of Christmas when My Dear Mother gave birth to Me in the city of Bethlehem. At My birth great things happened. First a great star came down right over the place where I was born. The Father sent a group of angels and they came where I was and began to sing the hymn of Christmas. Then an angel was sent to the shepherds in the fields just outside of Bethlehem where they were keeping watch over their flock. The angel announced the good news of My birth in Bethlehem, the city of King David, and he called Me the Messiah and Lord. The angel told them how they would find Me in a manger. So they went to the city and found me and they worshipped Me with great joy. It had been announced in the Old Testament many times that the Son of God would be born as a human being and that He would come to save His people. Well, I am the one foretold for thousands of years. With My coming into the world as a human being although I am divine, brought about the beginning of a new era and the year 2015 means that it was 2015 years ago that I was born. Remember that I live every day and I never get old for I am the eternal Son of God. I came for your salvation and so I call you all to come and follow Me and I will save you all. I love you all.”
