Christ and His Commandments

A reading from the First Letter of Saint John 2, 1 – 11:

My children, I am writing this to you so that you may not commit sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one. He is expiation for our sins, and not for our sins only but for those of the whole world. The way we may be sure that we know him is to keep his commandments. Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps his word, the love of God is truly perfected in him. This is the way we may know that we are in union with him: whoever claims to abide in him ought to live just as he lived.
Beloved, I am writing no new commandment to you but and old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. And yet I do write a new commandment to you, which holds true to him and among you, for the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining. Whoever says he is in the light, yet hates his brother, is still in the darkness. Whoever loves his brother remains in the light, and there is nothing in him to cause a fall. Whoever hates his brother is in darkness; he walks in darkness and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Today Friday is the feast of St. Augustine, the great saint from North Africa. He is one of the greatest Fathers of the Church. We had a beautiful sunny day today and it was warm this afternoon but there was no rain. Continue to pray for Our Holy Mother’s intention so that it may come about very soon.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who are united to My Son Jesus and have a great love for Me, your Mother. My Son Jesus gave the Apostles this commandment: ‘Love another as I have loved you.’ If you follow this commandment then indeed you are in union with My Son and you live in His light. Those who hate their brothers or sisters are living in darkness and they are following the path of the evil one. You will never be saved if you remain in this darkness. You have to come out of the darkness by repenting of your sins and come to follow all that My Son has taught you. In this way you will be filled with love, peace and joy and your whole spirit will be filled with light. You will then see the path traced out by My Son, which you all have to follow. Change your way of life today and come walk with My Son Jesus and with Me your Mother. I love you all.”
