A Woman Caught in Adultery

A reading from the Gospel of Saint John 8, 1 – 11:

Then each person went to his own house, while Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. But early in the morning he arrived again in the temple area, and all the people started coming to him, and he sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery and made her stand in the middle. They said to him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” They said this to test him, so that they could have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his fingers. But when they continued asking him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he bend down and wrote on the ground. And in response, they went away one by one, beginning with the elders. So he was left alone with the woman before him. Then Jesus straightened up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She replied, “No one, sir.” Then Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin anymore.”

We had a beautiful sunny day on Monday and it was a holiday here in Canada today. It is the Queen’s Day. I am happy that I got some money today and it will be in my account on Wednesday when I will go again to New Brunswick. I thank you for the money you sent me. May the Lord bless you and fill you with His peace.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“You recall My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters that I told you never to sin again. Every sin is an offense against Me and if you do not repent of your sins, you would end up in hell. Well, one day the scribes and Pharisees brought to Me a woman who was caught in adultery. It is true that Moses said that a woman caught in adultery should be stoned to death. So these Jews came to me with this woman and asked me this question, ‘So what do you say?’ I just bend down and began to write on the ground. It is not written in the Bible what I wrote on the ground. What I wrote were the sins of these men who brought this woman. They could all read and they understood what I wrote. Then when I stood up again I told them these words, ‘Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.’ Then they began to leave one by one. In no time they were all gone and only the woman stood before Me. I told her that I was not condemning her and I added these words, ‘Go and from now on do not sin anymore.’
My dear brothers and sisters, if you should sin, you have to repent of your sins and to ask the grace never to sin again. I will give you this grace to give you the strength to avoid all occasions of sin. Never give the devil a chance to win over you. Stay close to Me and you will be preserved from evil. I bless you all.”
