The Cleansing of the Ten Lepers

Dear Friends,

As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee. As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” And when he saw them, he said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” As they were going they were cleansed. And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.” (Passage from the Gospel of St. Luke 17:11-19)

I will start the French Retreat this afternoon here in the Little Shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. I do not know how many will come. I ask you all to pray that this retreat will go well.

As some of you know I will be going back to Europe in September on a pilgrimage with a group from Canada and the USA. I will leave on September 6 and I will return on September 19. I will go on another pilgrimage this fall and this time it will be to the Holy Land (Israel). We will leave on November 29 and return on December 9. If anyone is interested please phone Scott Scaria at this number: 860-289-2606.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I greet you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters scattered around the world. I am your Savior who suffered and died on the cross to open Heaven for you and to win for you the graces you need to follow Me on earth. Have faith in Me and cooperate with My graces and you will be in heaven one day. Do not be like the nine lepers who were healed and never came back to say thank you. You should be thankful for all that I have done for you. The Father takes care of you every day and He gives you life every day. Be thankful and come and follow Me, otherwise your life with be completely empty and you will not have any joy. Come now and let us walk together as friends. I bless you.”
